More April scurrying

THE JUICING TRIALS

Got my Juice Masterflash Turbo 2000 (inside joke), cut up some carrots, apples, and celery. Results were pretty delicious.
Pros: Easier than actually cooking, good for you and cheaper than going to Robek's. See cup in photo.
Cons: The clean up is a beast, as you can see the Juicemaster breaks down into 9,685 components. So if you're in the mood for juice, you'd also better be in the mood to bust suds.
Side note: offered a good friend a sip and you would have thought I had offered her an anthrax smoothie, by her response.

I am easily entertained, so please give a hand to:
Mr. Lemon and Miss Honey Bear!!

The aftermath - Yardhouse Deviled Eggs and Truffle Fries
Sometimes I remember to take the picture before we eat, but for some reason Will and I were super hungry and just needed a "little something" to tide us over while we waited for our actual lunch.

THE CHEESE CAVE
CLAREMONT, CALIFORNIA

Killing a little time, looking for a bathroom, stopped here randomly (no bathroom).  I didn't buy any cheese. I did buy chocolate and a tote bag. Because chocolate is the new cheese, and everyone knows that a tote bag is slimming and goes with everything. Cute store, smelled like a fart . . . probably the cheese. Probably.

VIEW FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT

Kids don't try this at home. Professional driver on a closed track. 10 freeway westbound. For lack of anything better to do.

The Big 5 Twins

I need to get to back to exercising. Let me quit lying. I need to get TO exercising.(Think Chris Rock - old stuff).  I don't have any walking shoes and I do have a slight situation with the toenail on my big toe on my left foot. Okay TMI . Anyway I stopped by Big 5 and this is who I saw as I was contemplating my upcoming purchase:

Too cute. The funny thing is, the one in the photo alone, sat and posed as soon as he heard some pictures would be taken. The other one took off running into the store, and was only willing to smile when his sister promised them popcorn. You never know who you will run into. I did find some shoes. I also asked for permission to photograph the children. Thanks Dad!

Let's take a long walk. Welcome to my neighborhood.

The brilliant red flowers, mulit-color wind chimes, stone lion head, and tantalizing garden gnome are from neighbor's yard. Yes that is Buddy, Will, and a horse.

Just in time

Trying to stay focused, not always easy for me to do. Spent the entire weekend scurrying about trying to get ready for next week. Most of the running around took place in my head. My goal was to get things done in time (clothes, hair, lunch, etc.). I enjoy procrastinating immensely, so it worked out as well as anything does for me. Below are photos that somewhat represent stuff on my mind.

 Mail (RIF letter on top)

 What a great smile. Seriously.

 Lunch (fake Starbucks protein box)

Inside my wallet - No cash!!!

 A younger me. Awwww . . .
Wheww! This blog is so much work. I'm all worked up and will be eating chocolate chip cookies meditating like a grown up. I go back to work tomorrow. Not sure what to expect from self or others. So we'll see. . .

Today is the first day of . . .

Hello and good morning. Day one of my first blog ever. Shall I explain the title? Here goes: There are times when I feel that we are doing lots of scurrying about for nothing. There are times when I am quite content to scurry about somewhat mindlessly. Having said that, I am aware that it makes sense that once in a while we should slow down and examine our lives, actions, and motives. And perhaps realize that lots of stuff really isn't important. That's about as deep as I will get.
I have to say, I have been reluctant to jump into the world of blogging. Mostly because I thought that it could compromise my run for President of the USA or other future employment. In reality I've had enough bad credit and bad decisions in my past to keep me from ever being President.
You know how they dig up stuff. . .
Stairs to nowhere in particular
Mostly though I am interested in relationships, food, fashion, business, and photography. That generally means that I am not engaged in any those areas, with the exception of thinking about them while I eat and procrastinate.
